The ability to integrate marketing strategies and communications organizationally is often a challenge. Much depends on the quality of internal communication. The use of cross-departmental teams that are able to strategize together in the idea development/brainstorming phases seems to have helped. Often efficiencies and synergies are realized that "incentivize" internal staff to collaborate and help unify external marketing communications.

Does anyone have experience/suggestions with integration of marketing communications when much of this work is outsourced? As it becomes more common to farm-out this work to multiple "vendors", coordination becomes extremely important. Thoughts?

I think we as a company are getting better at integrated marketing but like any growing company we fall down sometimes. As the org gets bigger and time constraints happen, sometimes its hard to ensure that we are all on the same page. I dont think any company can claim complete victory in this area, but I know that we are doing it fairly well.
