About TechTarget’s Client Consulting Team

TechTarget’s Client Consulting team’s mission is to add value to our customers’ experience. We do this by evaluating the results of their sponsorships or marketing activities and finding ways to maximize their TechTarget investments.

We are comprised of advertising agency veterans and former consultants who leverage their understanding of TechTarget’s targeted media and knowledge of our member base to maximize results for IT marketers.

Marilou Barsam, Senior Vice President, Client Consulting & Corporate Marketing

Marilou Barsam, with more than 25 years experience, has built TechTarget’s Client Consulting team to monitor and maximize our advertisers’ experience with TechTarget media. Barsam and her team of advertising agency veterans and consultants act as a seamless extension of our clients’ marketing departments by providing expertise on campaign strategy, media selection and results analysis. At TechTarget, Barsam develops programs that emphasize integration and return on investment. In 2001, Barsam rolled out TargetROI™, a guaranteed lead generation program for IT marketers.

Barsam has contributed to BtoB’s “Ask the Expert” column, as well as many other online publications. Recently she was chosen amongst leading senior level marketers to contribute a chapter to “Inside the Minds”, a series of books published by Aspatore Books on c-level business/marketing intelligence.

At TechTarget Barsam hosts an ongoing series of Webcasts about best practices for effective online marketing programs and a blog on online marketing strategies entitled, “My Educated Guess: Marketing Answers for IT.”

Barsam is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and received her M.B.A. focused on Technology Marketing from Bentley College.

Garrett Mann, VP of Client Consulting, EastGarrett has 10 years of experience in advertising and marketing and has been with TechTarget since 2003. Over his tenure, he has made many contributions to the Client Consulting team and has established himself as a strong advocate and great strategic asset for TechTarget’s client base. He has also been instrumental in bringing in and growing business for TechTarget. Prior to joining TechTarget, Garrett was in media and marketing management with three prominent Boston advertising agencies.

Melissa Marron Murtagh, VP of Client Consulting, West

Melissa joined TechTarget in 2001. Through her tenure in Client Consulting, Melissa has managed hundreds of lead generation and branding campaigns for more than 30 technology clients; including Microsoft, HP, Oracle, Network Appliance and Hitachi. In addition to managing the Client Consulting team on the west coast, Melissa is responsible for creating in-depth, consultative presentations for our clients that highlight strategies to maintain, improve and grow their brand strategy and pipeline. Additionally, Melissa is a co-author of Client Consulting’s blog, www.MyEducatedGuess.com.

Melissa’s previous experience includes event and product marketing at SUN Microsystems and as a marketing consultant for several non-profit organizations. She has an M.B.A. from Boston College.
